Toi Tu Kids
Empowering children, young people, and their families towards better health and well-being
Toi Tu Kids Service (TTKS) at Te Hononga o Tamaki me Hoturoa is a joint initiative with General Paediatricians and Starship Community, Te Whatu Ora. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive physical and health assessments for Māori, Pacific, and other vulnerable children referred by Starship Community. Our whānau-centric approach addresses and supports the health needs of tamariki and rangatahi within their community. By collaborating with Paediatricians, GPs, social agencies, schools, government, and community organizations, we deliver personalized care plans that work for the entire whānau.
Our Team and Partnerships
Toi Tū Kids Service is a unique partnership between Te Hononga o Tāmaki me Hoturoa and Starship Hospital General Paediatrics. Our expert team provides health and social support for children (tamariki), young people (taitamariki), and their families (whānau) in a community-based environment.

We are committed to assisting you with education, assistance, and advocacy in all aspects of children’s health. Our services include:
- Providing expert child health advice and care
- Supporting you throughout the health system, including referrals
- Transporting and assisting with appointments
- Advocacy and support for any family needs
- Facilitating access to immunizations and dental programs
Referrals and Support
Māori, Pacific, and other vulnerable children are referred to our Toi Tu Kids Service from Starship Community. We work closely with our partners and the whānau to identify and address the unique health needs of each child and family. Our goal is to empower whānau and ensure they receive the support they need to thrive.

Meet Peaario Bradbeer, the Team Leader and Kaiarahi for Toi Tu Kids Service at Te Hononga o Tamaki me Hoturoa. With her extensive nursing experience and passion for child health, Peaario is committed to providing the best possible healthcare to all children. Alongside the Toi Tu team, Peaario works closely with families, healthcare professionals, and community organizations to offer comprehensive physical and health assessments for vulnerable children. Their whanau-centric approach ensures that the plan of care is tailored to each child’s individual needs. With Peaario’s friendly service and expertise, you can trust that your child’s health and wellbeing is in good hands.
