Mana Kidz is a free, nurse-led, school-based program that provides comprehensive healthcare for children in the Counties Manukau Health region. The programme is led by the National Hauora Coalition in partnership with Counties Manukau Health and is supported by local providers: Kidz First, East Tāmaki Health Care, Otara Union, Health Star Pacific, Turuki Health Care, Te Hononga O Tāmaki Me Hoturoa, ProCare and Papakura Marae.
Starting in July 2012, Mana Kidz clinics now operate in 61 primary and intermediate schools in the Otara, Māngere, Manurewa and Papakura communities. Each school clinic has a registered nurse and whānau support worker providing healthcare including rheumatic fever prevention services, skin infection treatment and management and health assessments.

Mana Kidz is a Nurse-Led School Based Programme that provides comprehensive healthcare for children in Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau. The programme is led by National Hauroa Coalition and is supported by local providers. Starting in July 2012, Mana Kidz Clinics now operate in 61 Primary and Intermediate Schools in Otara, Māngere, Manurewa and Papakura communities.

The Te Hononga o Tāmaki me Hoturoa Mana Kidz team of 15 work over 11 Level 1 Schools and 5 Level 2 Schools, made up of 6 Registered Nurses and 9 Whānau Support Workers. All schools, bar one, are in Manurewa. Each school clinic has an RN and WSW providing healthcare – focusing on Rheumatic Fever prevention, sore throats, skin infections and Child Health assessments, treatments and referrals.

Our team of experienced nurses and whānau support workers is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to every child we serve.

Our Clinics

Mana Kidz clinics are conveniently located in 61 primary and intermediate schools in the Otara, Māngere, Manurewa, and Papakura communities. We understand that it can be challenging for families to make time for healthcare appointments, which is why we have designed our clinics to be accessible and convenient. We invite families to come to our clinics to receive the care that their children need, without having to worry about missing work or school.
